Travel Diary of Japan - Ray Kinnane
Honshu This is the largest island in the group, with the majority of Japan's 125 million people living here. The major business and industrial centres of Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Yokohama, Kobe, Hiroshima and Nagoya are situated on Honshu. The island is roughly 1300km long and 300km wide. Domestic travel on Honshu is very easy, with fast, comfortable express trains connecting all of the places of interest. It is common to make long distance journeys for just overnight stays.
