a. Autumn leaves.

b. Golden Pavilion.

c. Autumn leaves.

The autumn leaves in Japan, especially in the ancient capital of Kyoto, are just as spectacular as the cherry blossom. They provide a really brilliant backdrop for this villa known as the Golden Pavilion, built by the Shogun Higaki to house his concubine. The gold is real, made up of hammered gold leaf, which is still replaced with genuine gold today, when maintenance is necessary.
